You know you

So, it's my mom's birthday today and I wanted to give her a little shout out from my bloggy mcblogblog. Hi, Mom. Happy birthday. Love ya!

Anyway, unrelated to mothers or birthdays, here is a poem I've been stewing over for the past 24 hours:

Take my flaws,
How they glare
See my sins,
They spring forth from my eyes
I know.
Watch me here
And realize
The little girl I still am.
She’s still growing into
That body you gave her.

But is there no love for her?
Head down, as if
In prayer—
Hands clasped
I will give you everything
If you let me.

Winds course through me
I’m dying
Slowly
As all.
Silence in the absence
Of a ticking clock
Is too comfortable
In my eyes—
You see what I really am.
You see the devil within
The screamer
Screaming for nothing.
